Lectio Divina & Spiritual Resources

✝️ Lectio Divina & Spiritual Resources

As Catholic men, we are called to grow in faith through prayer, reflection, and study. This page offers resources to help you deepen your spiritual life, whether you’re just beginning or continuing your journey of faith.

We especially encourage the practice of Lectio Divina, a traditional method of prayerful Scripture reading that invites you to listen to God’s Word with an open heart.

📖 What is Lectio Divina?

Lectio Divina (Latin for “Divine Reading”) is a meditative way of reading Scripture that involves four simple steps:

  1. Lectio (Read) – Read a passage of Scripture slowly and attentively.
  2. Meditatio (Meditate) – Reflect on what the passage is saying to you personally.
  3. Oratio (Pray) – Talk to God about what you’ve read and what’s in your heart.
  4. Contemplatio (Contemplate) – Rest in God’s presence, listening more than speaking.

You can practice Lectio Divina alone, with your family, or alongside your brother Knights.

🙏 Lectio Divina Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit,
Open my heart and mind to receive Your Word.
Help me to listen, reflect, and respond with love.
Let the Scriptures speak to me personally and transform me.
Guide my thoughts, my prayer, and my actions,
So that I may grow closer to Christ.
Amen.

🙏 A Prayer Before Reading Scripture

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”
(1 Samuel 3:10)

Lord, open my heart and mind to hear Your voice in the Scriptures.
Help me to receive Your Word with faith, reflect on it with love,
and live it out with courage.
Amen.

🕊️ Canonization Prayer of Blessed Michael McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan,
You called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor.

Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church.

Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast.

We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will.
Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (mention your request).
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

📿 The Rosary

The Rosary is a powerful and meditative prayer rooted in Scripture. It invites us to reflect on key moments in the life of Christ through the eyes of Mary, our Mother.

Consider praying the Rosary with your family or council — even a single decade a day is a meaningful devotion.
