📖 What is Lectio Divina?
Lectio Divina, meaning “Divine Reading,” is a simple and prayerful way to reflect on Sacred Scripture through four steps:
Lectio (Read) – Read a passage of Scripture slowly and attentively.
Meditatio (Meditate) – Reflect on what God may be saying through the passage.
Oratio (Pray) – Speak to God from your heart in response.
Contemplatio (Contemplate) – Rest quietly in God’s presence.
Lectio Divina can be practiced alone, with family, or in a group.

Why do you think the disciples did not recognize Jesus right away?
Have there been moments in your life when Christ was near, but you did not realize it until later?
What part of this passage speaks most to your life right now?

Lord Jesus,
You walked beside the disciples on the road to Emmaus
and opened their hearts through Your Word.
Walk with me in my joys, struggles, and uncertainties.
When I fail to recognize You, open my eyes.
When my heart grows weary, renew my hope.
Stay with me, Lord, and draw me closer to You.

Contemplatio (Contemplate)
Sit quietly in God’s presence for a few moments.
Rest with the words:
“Were not our hearts burning within us?”
Allow the Lord to speak to your heart in silence.
Live It
This month, take 10 quiet minutes to pray with this Gospel passage.
Then ask yourself:
Where have I seen Christ walking with me this week?
Write down one answer and thank Him for His presence.
